Read the impressions of the international experts after their participation in the IV Congress on International and Interdisciplinary Cultural Heritage

For five days, the “IV Congress on International and Interdisciplinary Cultural Heritage: Industrial Heritage, Social Issues and Challenges for the New Governance” brought together in Concepción, Biobío Region, more than 60 researchers, academics, professionals and enthusiasts passionate about the industrial heritage of Chile and the world.

The congress was part of the program “International Strategies for the Transformation of Industrial Heritage into Regional Assets”, an initiative of the Creasur Cultural Center, with the support of the Southern Research Center (Nudisur) and funding from the Biobío Regional Government.

In parallel with the congress, the first version of the “Festival Artes en Ruinas”a meeting that in addition to seeking to be a platform for local creators, promoted the appreciation and understanding of the intangible cultural heritage that shapes the identity of Biobío through various artistic disciplines. such as music, theater, dance, crafts, textile art and performances.

Since 2016, the congress has been a unique space where experts from several disciplines, professions and institutions explore and preserve the rich industrial legacy that has shaped communities and societies.
