Project Alpha: Body and Stage Tools for Artists in the Biobío Region
The training and creation seminars for performing artists in the Biobío region during 2011 were an initiative born from the CreaSur Cultural Center and funded by the regional Fondart of that year. The purpose was to provide essential notions and knowledge about contemporaneity in the performing arts.
The training process consisted of six modules aimed at stage tools and creation through improvisation. The first module focused on body training, while the second focused on stage research arising from spontaneous creation.
The schedule took place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in August and September at the Charles de Gaulle School. Amilcar Borges, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Javiera Torres, and Andrés Maulén were responsible for teaching the seminars.
The programmatic network of Project Alpha consists of six seminars that were methodologically programmed and structured under the premise of thinking and recreating the contemporaneity of the performing arts in the territory.
During its course, an open call was generated that provided the opportunity to be part of the training instance. The selection made by its organizers was based on criteria such as curriculum, the artist’s interest, and their commitment to Alpha.
The project concluded as an interesting opportunity in which knowledge, tools, and experiences were provided for those who develop performing disciplines.
