Architecture students participated in the workshop “I come from the city to live in San Rosendo” in San Rosendo.

The “Diplomado Metodologías Colaborativas para Proyectos Patrimoniales con Enfoque Crítico” of the Centro Cultural Creasur continues in full swing through the working day “Yo vengo de la ciudad a vivir a San Rosendo”, held in San Rosendo on Tuesday 28th November.

The workshop was given by Andrés Torres and was accompanied by the renowned Chilean-Italian architect Renato Vivaldi, who has a long career and vast experience in participatory methodologies and has been developing his professional practice for more than 30 years both in Chile and Italy.

The event was attended by 4th and 5th year students of the Project Management course of the School of Architecture of the Universidad San Sebastián (EA USS), as well as students of the diploma course.

With the aim of valuing the urban-rural attributes of a minor city like San Rosendo in order to be able to raise equipment-infrastructure needs considering the attraction of inhabitants, and to link them to the existing railway heritage infrastructure, a project work was carried out in groups, in which students reflected on what to do with the space of the San Rosendo Railway Complex, recently declared a National Monument (CMN), in a look that recognises its past and throws it into the future.

Renato Vivaldi is an architect from the University of Chile with studies in Monuments Restoration at La Sapienza University in Rome. 2015 Ensamble Prize awarded by the Chilean Association of Architects. Founder of the Taller de Arquitectura Puertazul de Chiloé together with architect Edwar Rojas. With vast experience in participatory methodologies in Chile and abroad, he has been developing his professional practice in Italy for more than thirty years.
